Ground has been broken for 3 new aged care in Hawkes Bay.

 is building in Napier and the village will establish around 320 homes, including two and three-bedroom villas, and one-bedroom serviced apartments. There would also be rest home and hospital level care. Another 20 apartments would operate as the company's only Hawke's Bay-based memory care .  The is modelled on international design standards for dementia care and allows residents to live in their own one-bedroom apartment with living space/kitchenette but in a secure environment.

Bupa is also building in Napier and the proposal comprises 99 single-storey retirement villas with internal garaging, 19 retirement apartments and associated detached garages, 49 care beds, as well as communal facilities and support facilities.
Ryman Healthcare is building in Havelock North. The village will include a 90-bed care  with , hospital and dementia-level care.
It will also include 78 serviced apartments, 44 independent apartments and 103 townhouses.
