Helen, originally from the UK, has a rich background in healthcare, spanning over 25 years as a registered nurse, with 18 years dedicated to district nursing in both the UK and Ōtautahi Christchurch. After marrying her husband in New Zealand, she spent a decade back in the UK before returning to Christchurch in 2013 with their two children.
Helen joined the Care On Call group in 2020 as a Nurse Educator, drawn by the opportunity to train and support our talented support workers and enhance the quality of care they provide. With a passion for high-quality community nursing, which began with her first district nurse placement as a student in 1994, Helen considers it a privilege to deliver care in people’s homes. Her commitment to professional growth led her to complete postgraduate studies, grow the training team, and transition into her current role as Chief People & Culture Officer. Now, she focuses on creating a supportive work environment and promoting staff wellbeing.
Outside of work, Helen enjoys family time, op-shopping, and exploring the outdoors. She’s an avid ocean swimmer in summer and loves hitting the mountains in winter.
